Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels

Standing in the midst of downtown Los Angeles, the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels serves the total Archdiocese of over 5 million Catholics. As the heart of all 287 Parish Churches and communities, it is the place where the Archbishop celebrates the major Liturgies of the year with clergy, religious and laity.

The Cathedral serves as a "model Church for all Parish Churches" in the style and content of its liturgical celebrations. In design, art and furnishings, the Cathedral is rich in cultural diversity in a city in which Sunday Mass is celebrated in 42 different languages. World Marriage Day honors husband and wife as head of the family, saluting the beauty of their faithfulness, sacrifice and joy in daily married life. Couples celebrating their 25th, 50th, 60th (or more) Wedding Anniversaries are invited to WMD Mass for a special recognition and blessing by the Celebrant. All of us, especially young adults, live with one foot in the secular world and the other in the church, always with the question, "How do I live out my discipleship of Jesus in this world?" Every third Tuesday of the month, The Cathedral offers a night of spiritual development for young single adults, men and women, 18 years of age or more.
