One Stone,
One Cathedral, One People.
Approximately 60,000 stones, emanating
from the altar in a circular pattern,
form the floor of the Cathedral. Measuring
5x20 inches, each paving stone is made
of Jana, a Spanish limestone. Each
stone was hand-laid with care, one
at a time.

You
are invited
to participate
in the very
foundation
of your Cathedral
by dedicating
one or more
of the stones
that form
its floor.
A contribution
to the Cathedral,
in your own
name or to
honor a friend
or loved
one, will
benefit the
Cathedral
of Our Lady
of the Angels
now and in
the future.
Here are
some ideas
for your
dedication:
Birth/Baptism |
Sacramental
Celebration |
Christmas/Easter |
Memorial
to a
loved
one |
Special
Occasion |
Wedding/Anniversary |
Birthday |
First
Communion/Confirmation |
When you dedicate
a paving stone,
you and those
you honor will
be recognized
in a number
of ways:
You
or the person you honor will receive a printed
certificate and map with the location of
the designated paving stone.
A
card will be sent in your name to the person whose
special occasion you are honoring.
You,
and those you remember, will be included in a special
annual liturgy.
Names
of those honored are permanently listed in the
Archival Register within the Cathedral. A kiosk
computer monitor in the northwest wing publicly
displays names of honorees and their paving stone
locations.
(It is not possible for the paving stone
itself to bear inscriptions.)

You,
and the generations
that come
after you
are the ones
who fill
the pews,
sing the
hyms, hear
the words
of guidance
and hope,
and praise
the Lord.
It is people
such as you
who build
the great
cathedrals
of the past,
one stone
at a time.
This is a
rare opportunity
to be part
of your cathedral,
the Cathedral
of Our Lady
of the Angels,
once stone
at a time.
