The Cathedral Gift Shop is a ministry of the Church and helps to fund the pastoral mission of the Cathedral. With a thoughtfully curated collection of devotional items, the Cathedral Gift Store is tailored to foster the faith. The Retail Operations Sales Manager creates and maintains an exemplary and religious gift shop consistent with the Cathedral's mission, supervising all Gift Shop personnel and directing the entirety of all Gift Shop related projects. This is a full-time, exempt position, weekend work required.

In solidarity with our suffering brothers and sisters, Archbishop Gomez has asked all parishes to participate in a non-mandatory special collection during the weekends of March 12-13 and March 19-20, 2022.
The 37th running of the Los Angeles Marathon takes place on Sunday, March 20, 2022. The Cathedral is the sixth landmark on a course starting from Dodger Stadium and finishing on the Avenue of the Stars. Access to the Cathedral will be limited due to street closures.
Effective March 4, 2022, Los Angeles County has lifted the indoor mask mandate. This aligns with California Department of Health Orders. As of this time, masking is strongly recommended, but no longer required in most indoor settings, including houses of worship. The Cathedral will follow this guideline. It is important to note that everyone is free to continuing wearing a mask. No person can be prevented from wearing a mask, and we will continue to have masks available for any worshipers who might request one.

The Galero Grill café has now reopened for weekday lunch service! The café is open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with a limited menu to expand in the future. On Sundays, the Galero Grill is open from 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM and offers Pastries, Coffee, Tea and Soft Drinks.
In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. federal holiday, the Cathedral Parish Office and Gift Store will be closed on Monday, January 17, 2022. Daily Mass will be held at 9:00 AM on this day. There will be no 12:10 PM Mass.
As we approach the new year, we approach the one year anniversary of the unveiling of the new Marian tapestry at the Cathedral. Featuring a 14-foot-high depiction of the cathedral’s namesake, hands outstretched, eyes cast toward the altar and congregation, the new tapestry was unveiled on the day that the Catholic Church celebrates the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.

Every Thanksgiving at the Cathedral, we express our gratitude for the many blessings in our lives through our participation in the annual Outreach Food Drive.This year we will be assisting the Sisters Poor of Jesus Christ and the Friars Poor of Jesus Christ with their Downtown Skid Row Street Ministry. On Sunday, October 10th, from 9am to 4pm, six miles of streets in downtown L.A. will be closed to cars and open for community to bike, walk, skate, and enjoy the street as a public park for the day for CicLAvia 2021. Though the Cathedral is not directly on the route, please note that there may be additional traffic congestion during the event hours, and you may need to take a different route to the Cathedral that day. Please plan accordingly and allow additional time to drive.

‘250 Years of Mission’ is a new art exhibit hosted by the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in celebration of the Archdiocese’s ‘Forward in Mission’ Jubilee Year. The year-long exhibition of paintings, photos and artifacts showcasing the rich legacy of Catholic faith in Los Angeles over the decades will be available to the public during the course of the “Forward in Mission” Jubilee Year from September 11, 2021 through September 10, 2022
The physical doors of the Cathedral Gift Shop will officially reopen on Sunday, September 19, 2021! Our new Sunday hours are 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM. During the week, the Gift Shop will be open on Tuesdays-Fridays from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. It is closed on Monday and Saturdays. All Gift Shop visitors must wear masks regardless of vaccination status. Forward in Mission Jubilee Year: On Saturday, September 11th, Archbishop Gomez celebrated the Rite of the Opening of the Holy Door at the Cathedral. This celebration kicks off our "Forward in Mission" Jubilee Year celebrating 250 years of Catholic faith in Los Angeles on the anniversary of the founding of Mission San Gabriel Arcángel, the first church in what is now the Archdiocese.
The Cathedral Family Faith formation ministry program is now accepting registration for families with children grades K-5 seeking continued faith formation. Families joining the ministry can also enroll their children in grades 2-4 for Sacramental preparation program for First Reconciliation and First Communion. Click for more.
