Good Friday is the one day in the year that no Masses are celebrated. In remembrance of Jesus’ suffering and death on the Cross, Catholics gather for a Communion service and to Venerate the Holy Cross.
On Good Friday, the Cathedral will offer the following services:
11:00 am:
Stations of the Cross
11 am - 12 pm:
Confessions
12:00 pm & 3:00 pm:
Celebration of the Lord's Passion
7:00 pm:
Celebración de la Pasión del Señor (in Spanish)
During the solemn liturgy, the Lord’s passion from the Gospel of John will be proclaimed and a special prayer will be dedicated to the catechumens or brothers and sisters who will be baptized and welcome into the Church on Easter Vigil. As in previous years, the faithful will have an opportunity to venerate the cross. The noon service will be livestreamed.
