The Cathedral is excited to announce the start of our new Christian Initiation program for Adults on Sunday February 5, 2023 at 11:30 AM led by Deacon Ricardo Mora. Formerly called "Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)," is the process through which one becomes a full member of the Roman Catholic Church. This is a program for any adult inquiring about our Catholic faith or wishing to receive the sacraments of initiation. Please register before Feb 1, 2023.
The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels is holding open auditions for both the English and Spanish Cathedral Choirs! The Cathedral Choirs serve the liturgical life of the Cathedral by singing on Sundays and on special Solemnities and Diocesan celebrations. On Monday January 16th, our nation observes Martin Luther King Day, a federal holiday. On this day the Parish Offices and Gift Shop will be closed. There will be two services on this day: 12:10 PM Daily Mass and a 3:00 PM Mass honoring the Life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

A new art exhibit honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe by sacred artist Lalo Garcia is now open at the Cathedral. “Un Pincel Guadalupano” (“A Guadalupan Brush”), featuring 13 art pieces including a palm statue and banner is located adjacent to the chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe, which houses the only known relic of the tilma or cloak of St. Juan Diego in the U.S. The exhibit features images of the Virgin of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego and will be open to the public through December 31. For 491 years, her image has been a symbol of unity, peace, compassion, and hope for people around the world.

Please be advised that we will be unable to livestream our Cathedral Masses this Sunday due to a hardware failure issue with our live streaming equipment. This affects the 10am and our 12:30pm noon Mass in Spanish. Our 10am 7.2 broadcast is affected, however, our national digital radio broadcast with Sirius XM remains active and will go on as usual. Starting October 2nd, the Spanish Sunday Mass will be held at 12:30PM. The Mass is returning to it's original scheduled time to allow additional time to clear the parking structure from the prior Mass.

The Parish offices, Gift Shop and Galero Grill will be closed on Monday June 20th in observance of Juneteenth. Daily Mass on this holiday will be held at 9:00am. Parking will only be validated with Mass attendance. There will be no 12:10pm Mass.
Love to sing? Audition for the Cathedral's Children's Chorus on Saturday June 11 or Sunday, June 12, from 1-5pm at the Cathedral Conference Center. Open to all Children 4th to 9th grade, the Chorus will have opportunity to sing at various Masses and Events at the Cathedral throughout the year. On June 4, Archbishop José H. Gomez will ordain eight new priests for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. One of these men is our very own Cathedral Seminarian, Guillermo "Memo" Alonso. His first Mass will be Sunday, June 5th at 10am.
Archbishop Jose H. Gomez of Los Angeles entrusted the victims of a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, that left at least 19 children and two adults dead to Our Lady of Guadalupe, asking that she “take the victims of this violence in her tender arms, and bring comfort to those who mourn, and healing those who are hurt.”
